Teaching Kids to Swallow Pills
This is an issue that comes up frequently in my visits: we have all these great herbs and nutrients that we’d like kids to take, but they only come in a pill form. Or, there are liquid or chewable forms of the things that they need, but they taste terrible. Or they have to take a capsule medication for a sickness, and because they've never learned how to swallow a pill, it turns into a meltdown and half of their medication ends up on the floor. |

Practice “Pills”

Pill Cups
These are cups that have a little chamber in the front. A pill goes in the chamber, water goes in the cup. When the child tilts the cup back, the pill rushes into their mouth with the water and they swallow as if the pill wasn’t even there. These can especially he helpful for kids with chronic conditions who have to swallow multiple pills, or for kids with emotional or developmental issues that make it hard to teach them pill swallowing in other ways. |
